Built-in Gas Ovens

Fanned or multifunction electric ovens are by far the most popular choice, but when it comes to cooking many people like to stick to what they know, which explains why gas is still a contender in the built-in oven market. These customers prefer the moister heat that a gas oven produces, and would rather not have to re-learn the cooking times of their favourite recipes. Fortunately, there is still a ready supply of built-in gas ovens from a handful of manufacturers, though it is certainly a more specialised area so the options are far more limited if you prefer cooking with gas or are restricted by electrical limitations.
The foremost brand, with a long-held specialisation in this area is Stoves, whose line-up of gas built-in ovens is impressive, and includes their unique Rotostar technology (see below). Part of the same manufacturing group, Belling and New World also offer gas single and double ovens. Hotpoint used to offer more in this area, but have cut their range down to only a 60cm single gas oven. Up-and-coming brand Caple similarly offer only one single gas oven.
Pros and Cons
The only real disadvantage of a gas oven is its slower warm-up time, as a fanned electric oven will reach temperature in less than half the time. Additionally, your gas oven is also likely to feature a gas grill, and these are undoubtedly inferior to modern electric grills, and are by far the highest cause of problems on gas cookers. This will probably not worry you if you are already sold on gas, though, and the flexible advantages of a multifunction electric oven with its choice of elements for different types of food may also fail to convince.
LPG Gas Ovens
More limited still is the choice of gas ovens that will work with LPG, with Belling offering the purpose-built XOU60LPG and XOU70LPG, and Hotpoint supplying an LPG conversion kit with their SY23 model. No 90cm models are available for LPG, unfortunately.
