Beat the January Price Increases on Leading Range Cooker Brands

Don’t wait until January, December is the time to order your new range cooker - even if you don’t need it for a while. Some manufacturers have already raised prices but some of the leading UK brands, having held back for as long as they can, will be applying price rises from 1st January 2012. Not great timing from a retailer’s point of view, and as everybody will be in the same position consumers may find that the expected January bargains are thin on the ground this year as retailers already working on ultra-slim margins have no choice but to put prices up in line with the changes, and this includes Rangecookers.co.uk...

Range Cookers Take the Strain out of Christmas Dinner

xmas_range_x
“Can I get my Christmas turkey in it?” is a question we hear very often from customers looking at buying a new cooker, and although we acknowledge the importance to customers of this question, it seems strange to base an otherwise rational buying decision on this one meal a year. However, it does highlight the importance of Christmas dinner in the mind of the British consumer, and if there is one thing that a range cooker ought to excel at, it is in catering comfortably for these kind of family occasions...

Ultra-modern Cooking with a White Range Cooker

White Range Cookers
White range cookers have been a discerning choice for many years, but are enjoying a resurgence in popularity as consumers veer towards high-gloss ultra-modern kitchens but wish to retain the impact a range cooker brings. In recent years, white products have acquired a utopian, futuristic persona associated with leading-edge product design from brands like Apple, and this works particularly well in the minimalist, functional but prestigious spaces many consumers and designers are creating in the kitchen...

Energy Saving Trust Recommends...

energy_saving_trust_x
The Energy Saving Trust is a non-profit organisation providing free and impartial advice on how to avoid wasting energy, and as part of its activities runs a recommendation scheme designed to help consumers choose products which meet the Trust's strict criteria, saving money and helping the environment. Cooker manufacturers are obviously keen to cooperate and gain some early ground, and the first of these to make it onto the list by acquiring certification was Rangemaster, who were quick to run a celebratory advertising campaign with the slogan "You could look at other range cookers but why waste your energy?”...See the Full Story...

Cooker Design and the Golden Ratio - Classic Proportions

golden_ratio_xx
There are sound reasons why good design just works. Whether it is a fine piece of architecture or furniture, a work of art or a domestic appliance, the designer's job is to achieve a certain harmony that people respond to without even knowing why. When it comes to designing something like a range cooker, getting the practical considerations right is one thing, but achieving this whilst creating an object somebody will want to adorn their home is quite another, as Chester-based product design consultancy Bigblue know very well...See the Full Story...

It's Pancake Day - What is Your Ideal Topping?

rangemaster_pancake_x
Some of us would happily eat pancakes every day, but for some reason it only occurs to most people to cook them on Shrove Tuesday - historically as a pre-fast splurge before embarking - fully shriven - on the forty day fast of Lent. We may be less prone to absolution these days, but delicious and varied, sweet or savoury, pancakes are a real winner with people of all ages, and the simplicity of their preparation is a key part of their appeal...
