Summer Eating

With summer in full swing, and the sun shining on us, we often embrace lighter eating styles during this season. You can either prepare meals ahead, or keep cooking as laid back as possible. On hot days we tend to gravitate towards fresh cooling foods like salads and gazpacho, or lightly cooked foods such as stir fries. If we look to the philosophy of Chinese medicine, it is suggested we choose foods which have a cooling effect on the system such as tomato, lettuce, cauliflower, cucumber, plum, pepper and melon.
