La Cornue Lands At Rangecookers
For connoisseurs of kitchen elegance and serious cooking performance, there's exciting news: the legendary French brand La Cornue has now joined the Rangecookers website.
If you've been dreaming of a range cooker that's as much a masterpiece of craftsmanship as a tool for cooking, this could be the moment to take a look. In a world of premium kitchen appliances, few names carry the same weight as La Cornue.

While the company began with the simple yet revolutionary idea of the vaulted oven, it has since evolved into one of the most respected manufacturers of range cookers, balancing tradition, innovation and artistry in every product.
Today, La Cornue offer two distinct product lines: the CornuFé series, designed for wider accessibility without compromising quality, plus the Château series, a fully bespoke flagship range built to order in France. Both lines embody the company's heritage whilst addressing the needs of contemporary kitchens.
The Origins of La Cornue
Founded in Paris by herbalist and perfumer, Albert Dupuy, La Cornue is known for producing high-quality, hand-crafted cookers. Its products combine distinctive design with technical performance and have become benchmarks in the high-end kitchen appliance market.

Albert Dupuy (bottom left), his son Andre Dupuy (standing), and his grandson Xavier Dupuy
In 1908, in the heart of Paris, Albert Dupuy presented the world's first ever convection oven. At the time, most ovens were merely a flat-topped cavity that held racks suspended over a fire. Many people simply considered cooking as heating food to eat, but Dupuy thought much more of it than this and wondered: "What does it really mean to cook?". With a desire to take cooking to a new level, this became a driving force for the innovation that eventually made La Cornue one of the world's leading brands in high-end range cookers.
Dupuy developed his oven with a vaulted ceiling, meaning heat was ushered around the food rather than trapped underneath it. To enable precision, the oven utilised the gas lines that powered homes and streetlamps across the city. He then christened this oven with the name La Cornue, after the French term cornue (the system for refining the gas that supplied the new oven but also for its analogy with the distillation retorts used in perfumery).

Each La Cornue range is made by hand, with each worker an expert in steel, copper and brass, inspired by great design. For over 100 years La Cornue has built upon this original creation and have now expanded the design and introduced new styles but still maintain that these cookers are made for one reason only: the pleasure and happiness of the customer.
After Albert Dupuy, his son André Dupuy modernised the company in the 1950s. The company was further modernised following the takeover of Xavier Dupuy in 1985, despite remaining a small business of around 60 staff. In 2015, Middleby Corporation acquired AGA Rangemaster Group, who had purchased La Cornue in 2004.
