Innovative Induction

Induction hobs have been a popular choice for many years, but over the past couple of years the technology has took a step up to a whole new level of innovation. A range cooker is an appliance that you will use every day for many years, so it is worth taking the time to choose a cooker that will minimise both your costs and carbon footprint – which is where induction shines.

What is induction?

Induction refers to the heat transfer when cooking. They may look very similar to other electric hobs, but they work in a completely different way. Beneath the hob’s ceramic plate, induction coils made from copper create a magnetic field as electricity is passed through. If a pan made of a ferromagnetic material is placed on the hob, the magnetic field causes it to directly heat up.

The benefit of this is the hob stays cool, with only a little residual heat from the pan. All heat is concentrated inside the pan and gives much better cooking time. Some induction hobs can also detect when a pan is absent, meaning they can switch off to save energy.

Here are some popular features on some of our induction ranges that could not only make your cooking easier, but also more energy efficient…

Booster function

Allows you to focus all of the power of the induction hob in a particular zone, speeding up boiling and cooking times.

Liquid spill protection

If the hob overheats or liquid is spilt onto the surface, a safety device will stop the hob and make sure no burning occurs. It will detect if the contents of your pan starts to boil over, also identifying the temperature of the surface when it gets too high.

Bridging control

This provides you with the option of simultaneously controlling two zones next to each other as if they were a single zone. This can broaden the sizes and the types of pans used on the hob. It creates an internal ‘bridge’ that joins the zones together.

To add to these handy features, Bertazzoni and Stoves have both taken their induction technology to a level that the market has not yet seen.

Brand New Bertazzoni

New to Bertazzoni’s range cooker collection is the introduction of the Air-Tec induction cooker. Taking on the stunning Professional model, this innovative 90cm, single oven, induction cooker with an integrated hood is the first model in its market.

Designed to capture all grease and odours whilst cooking, the central ventilation hood offers 10 different speeds, controlled through the dedicated knob and can be installed in suction or filtering mode – not only offering optimal efficiency but also quiet extraction. The ventilation system is also 100% safe against any water spillage.

The induction hob includes four active zones that surround this integrated hood. These include a booster feature, pot detection and residual heat indication for each zone, creating a truly special induction appliance that gives ultimate power and controllability. This cooker is now available on our website in 7 stunning colours: Matt Black (Carbonio), White (Bianco), Red (Rosso), Gloss Black (Nero), Yellow (Giallo), Orange (Aranci) and Stainless Steel.

Stoves Zoneless

Following years of research and development, Stoves Deluxe collection has evolved and is now introducing new steps within cooking technology. For 2023, they have introduced the groundbreaking zoneless induction – a first within the range cooker world!

The all new Stoves FreedomFlex™️ technology does away with the typical standout induction zones and offers a full surface cooking area that can accommodate up to 6 pans of any shape or size!

This brand new technology is the first of its kind, providing greater control and is extremely easy to use. The very intelligent management system has reinvented the induction hob as we know it. It will remember the heat settings of any pan should it need to be moved to another position, giving you flexibility, capacity and freedom within your cooking. There are also a number of useful pre-programmed settings for melting chocolate, simmering and keeping food warm.

Stoves is the only brand to offer a choice of three different induction systems: Zoneless, Rotary and Touch Induction. We are very happy to offer all three here at Rangecookers.co.uk and they are available on the Richmond, Sterling and Precision models, giving you a wide choice of style to suit your kitchen design.

With rotary induction, you get all of the usual induction benefits but in a familiar system, which also features bridgeable zones to create one large cooking area. Modern slider controls on the hotplate come as part of the touch induction system, putting you in control at the simple touch of a button.
