Incorporating Blue Into Your Kitchen Design

Blue is a great colour for a kitchen. A lighter shade of blue works best in smaller kitchens, bringing in the light levels and giving the space a cool, fresh finish. For those of you who love that block of bright colour within your kitchen, look no further than the Stoves Colour Boutique range. Available on their Richmond models, Colour Boutique can add a splash of vibrancy to the heart of your home. They offer a few different shades of blue in their collection, ranging from a light Country Blue to the dark Midnight Blue.

The Stoves Richmond is the perfect choice for both traditional and modern kitchens, balancing contemporary details with classic character. The Richmond S900DF has a multifunction Equiflow main oven, a handy second oven above with Maxi-grill and a very impressive 87 litre Titan fanned oven on the right. Five gas burners are housed beneath Pan-Glide cast iron supports within a single-pressing enamelled hotplate, and there is a central 4kW central Powerwok burner to give you brilliant quick-boil or wok cooking capability when you need it.

The Colour Boutique blues are bright, but don’t be afraid of them. It will create a talking point within the room, adding a splash of colour and life into the space. This is particularly important if you want to use more neutral tones surrounding it, such as whites and greys.

 

Rangemaster

Rangemaster also offer differing shades of blue. Rangemaster’s Stone Blue is the perfect shade for classic cabinetry and warm wooden tones. Also for a more laidback feel, China Blue, which is also available on the Falcon ranges, is striking but is light and elegant at the same time.

Perfect with its traditional styling, this Rangemaster Classic 90 FX model in Stone Blue takes its aesthetic from the very popular Classic collection. This large single cavity range cooker features the recognisable baker-style window along with a full width towel rail, classic control dials and optional mini splashback. It boasts a 114 litre oven, featuring a unique Energy Saving Panel (ESP) that allows you to split the oven in half. A five burner hotplate on top also now includes the added feature of a new, removable Teppanyaki griddle plate, making this a truly flexible and energy conscious appliance.

This Rangemaster Elise 100cm model, in China Blue, captures the essence of classic French style range cooking. It offers a twist of contemporary style and elegant features. A multifunction main oven (with integrated grill) and large fan assisted second oven are complemented by a separate glide-out grill. On top, a five zone Induction hob enhanced by an excellent quality stainless steel hob surround which further adds to the individual flavour of this very nicely balanced Rangemaster range cooker.

There is also the option of Rangemaster’s eye catching Regal Blue, a stylish colour that matches perfectly with a chrome trim.

 

Smeg

Smeg offer the stunning Pastel Blue as a finish on their Victoria models. A paler shade of blue, Pastel Blue could be considered calming due to its similarity to the sky and the ocean. Its gentle appearance makes it a very versatile colour to use for a range cooker.

The Smeg Victoria has a retro appearance, but manages to look at home in both a modern or traditional setting. This dual fuel model features TWO 61 litre triple glazed multifunction ovens, each with a variety of fanned, conventional and grilling functions as well as Smeg’s Vapor Clean system, which uses steam to help clean the oven interior. The dedicated grill is rather nice too, giving you a heavy gauge, full width glide-out grill tray and adjustable height positions. A pair of telescopic runners feature in the main oven below the grill too. This cavity can be controlled using the auto programmer if desired. There is also a useful storage drawer to keep a few oven trays and accessories, which include a pizza stone and a teppanyaki griddle.

 

AGA

AGA’s Dartmouth Blue is very reminiscent of the sea, bringing a beautiful rich blue to the AGA collection. Contemporary but also classic, this colour is timeless and will look fantastic in a selection of settings, including both high gloss and wooden designs.

AGA Rangemaster named this shade Dartmouth Blue after the shade you see when the sea meets the sky. It is also the perfect shade for the popular AGA Masterchef Deluxe.

Pressed from heavy-gauge steel and lusciously enamelled, the chunky bevelled doors feature very characteristic AGA towel rail handles, and this welcome simplicity is echoed by the cylindrical control knobs above. This understated approach suits the brand, but do not be deceived into thinking this is just a Rangemaster with an AGA badge. The build quality and specification of the Masterchef is much more enhanced. The materials and components throughout are noticeably sturdy, for example the gas hob uses the high-grade brass-bound burners designed to give professional power and endurance, and there is a meat probe in the main oven to allow you to cook meat and poultry by target temperature rather than time, giving perfect results.

 

Lacanche

Lacanche have a well-balanced collection of blues:

• Prussian Blue – this is a lighter cool blue shade, perfect for matching with creams, beiges and light greys.
• Dark Blue – Dark blue can be complemented by so many different colours. To create a seaside, coastal feel, use whites and creams. For a contrast, use oranges and reds.
• Delft Blue – a pastel blue that is elegant and simple, easy to match with a range of colours and cabinetry.
• Portuguese Blue – the classic white and blue look goes well with this standout, bright shade, making a perfect pop of colour
• Teal Blue – a cool shade of the colour wheel, it is the ideal combination of blue and green

Delft Blue is showcased very well on this Lacanche Citeaux Classic. A mesmerising 150cm range cooker, the Citeaux is a superb triple oven range cooker featuring a large 65 litre oven with a storage drawer beneath, a tall 49 litre oven and a tall 85 litre simmer oven on the right-hand side. The three-burner hob allows space for two optional integrated hob elements for an additional price.

The Cormatin is a smaller 70cm range cooker, and looks great in Portuguese Blue. The Cormatin comes in both classic and modern models. This compact model offers just as much as those that are larger but, despite being on a smaller scale, can still provide professional performance. On this Cormatin Classic 70 is a copious 65 litre dual function static/convection electric oven offers great versatility, with a storage drawer beneath and paired with a powerful 3 burner gas hob. The choice of cooking with or without a fan is all yours through the use of a simple switch. There is also a storage drawer below the oven.
